On Sunday we celebrated NMC's first birthday - can you believe it's been a year since we gathered in the tent for the first time? At the end of the 9:45 service we prayed together, giving thanks for the year that has passed and expressing our trust in God for what lies ahead for this new congregation.
And then it was time for tea and cake (it was a pretty big cake, but not much of it survived the morning...). Thanks so much to Tanya and Anita for making the birthday party happen.
Some 350 of us descended on the Barnyard Theatre on Friday night for another NMC fundraiser and a fantastic evening of entertainment. The show was "Rock on Beethoven" and we were blown away by the skill of the performers.
What a great evening we had last night at the Centenary Hall in Krugersdorp! The venue was perfect, the performers were exceptional and, while the numbers aren't in yet, it was clearly a huge success as a fundraiser for the new church in Noordheuwel. A big thank you to Paul Obermeyer and the fantastic team of musicians, to Val and Rob for co-ordinating the event, to Jimmy for handling ticket sales, to Willie and Beth for all their printing help and to everyone who attended the event, sold tickets, or helped out on the night. It all made for a memorable and very successful evening!
