During the planning stages prior to our first service at NMC we spent some time reflecting on what we believe God is calling us to be and do in Noordheuwel. The picture that emerged from these discussions is of the river of life described in Ezekiel 47 and in John's Revelation - a river which pours out of the temple and into the community, bringing life and healing and fruitfulness wherever it flows.

We believe that we are a community called to be disciples (following Jesus) and to bring healing and transformation to our world (changing our world). That river then is reflected in the colour and design of our logo - the 'f' in Following is a cross and a river or waterfall.

So we need to ask ourselves regularly as a community whether we have succeeded in these two things - following Jesus and changing our world, and whether our presence in Noordheuwel has had anything like the impact of the biblical river of life.
