History
NMC's history goes back a lot further than the first service held on 4 April 2010. In fact 2011 marks the ten year anniversary of the ground-breaking ceremony held on the Dippenaar Road property - so this has long been a dream of ours! The vision for planting a church in Noordheuwel dates back to the leadership of Krugersdorp Methodist Church in the late 1990's. Initially there was talk of relocating the town church to the suburban area of Noordheuwel, but it was felt that there is still a vital ministry and vibrant community in the Krugersdorp CBD.
Attention then shifted to the planting of a new church. For a number of years the KMC people worked tirelessly - raising funds, planning the design of the new church. Understandably there was some frustration however that after all the work, we still had not been able to see the new community established. A decision was eventually taken in October of 2009 that NMC would begin holding services on Easter Sunday in 2010 (whether or not there was a building on the land to accomodate us!). This focused our minds wonderfully! The early leadership of the church set about arranging a temporary facility in a tent, while building work got underway in earnest. Just over a year after that first memorable tent service we are meeting in our own building. God has blessed us incredibly in our short history!
